http://www.morimotorestaurant.comMorimoto, located on Chestnut Street, combines traditional Japanese cuisine with a Western flair. The head chef is Masaharu Morimoto, best known as the “Iron Chef.” The restaurant décor also reflects the eclectic menu – a combination of geometry and amorphous shapes make up the seating areas. Wood paneling on the walls and floors is combined with the bright, almost neon colors of the tables and chairs that seem to glow in the subdued light. The sushi bar allows guests to watch Morimoto perform his art. The menu includes sushi, a raw bar, and tempura, as well as steak, pork, and other “American” items with an Asian twist. Lunch is served 11:30am-2:00pm Monday to Friday. Dinner is served 5-11 Monday to Thursday, 5:00pm-12:00am on Friday and Saturday, and 4:00pm-10:00pm on Sunday. Reservations are strongly suggested.
