Lights of Liberty is marketed as the world’s first sound and light show walking tour. The hour-long experience takes you on a nighttime trek through America’s most historic square mile. Huge images, many of them hand-painted and custom-designed, are projected onto the nearby buildings and constructs, as your surround-sound headsets
fill your ears with music, narration, and sound effects. Ossie Davis narrates the tale of the American Revolution, while the likes of Charlton Heston, Walter Cronkite, and Claire Bloom provide other voices. Music is provided by the Philadelphia Orchestra. There is a special narration available for children, read by Whoopi Goldberg, as well as narrations in Spanish, German, Italian, and Japanese. The show season begins in April and runs throughout the summer months. The price is $19.50 for adults and $13.00 for children under 12. Students and Seniors pay $16.50. Tickets can be purchased at the PECO Lights of Liberty Center at 6th and Chestnut Streets.
